A local media outlet has speculated on the dream team that new manager Enzi Postecoglou might want.
Tottenham Hotspur announced on the club’s website on the 6th (Korean time), “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Postecoglou as our new head coach. Becoming the first Australian manager in the English Premier League (EPL), Postecoglou will join the club on 1 July and has signed a four-year contract.”
Tottenham’s unusually long search for a new manager has come to an end. After Antonio Conte left the club by mutual consent during the A-Match at the end of March, first-team coach Christian Stellini took over as acting manager, but was sacked after a crushing defeat to Newcastle United, and Ryan Mason took over as acting head coach. Spurs finished eighth in the league and missed out on European competition next season, leaving the club to focus on preparing for the new campaign with a new manager.스포츠토토
Postecoglou was the man chosen to lead Spurs into the new season. After the appointment was confirmed, local media began to speculate on what the Spurs would look like under Postecoglou. With Postecoglou’s history of attacking tactics at Celtic, many media outlets are predicting that Spurs will be more aggressive next season.
In particular, there will be a change in formation. Postecoglou favours a formation based on a back four rather than the back three that Spurs have used in the past. Spurs’ main formation next season is likely to be a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.
This means three midfielders in the middle of the park. “Postecoglou’s dream team midfield” is how Football London described Spurs’ midfield next season.
It centred on the return of Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur to the first team, as well as the addition of James Maddison. The idea was that Bissouma and Bentancur would be deployed in more defensive roles, while Maddison, who can play with less defensive pressure, would add strength to the second line.
The addition of these three players would also take some pressure off the Tottenham attack. Tottenham’s attack has traditionally relied heavily on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, and with the addition of Maddison to the squad, Kane and Son are likely to be under less pressure.
