Will Lionel Messi stay involved with Inter Miami after his retirement?
The Mirror, a British publication, published an interview with Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas on Friday about Messi’s influence.
“Messi will take the American Major League Soccer (MLS) to the next level. I believe he has the desire to play an important role,” he said.
“He can carry on after retirement and will play a role at Inter Miami. I envision Messi’s life after soccer similar to David Beckham. He will have a chance on the MLS stage.”
Messi has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain since his contract expired at the end of last season.
Negotiations between Messi and PSG were fruitless and he accepted an offer from Beckham-owned Inter Miami and headed to the United States.
