Konkuk University Glocal Campus fell in love with real-life redhead Kang Baek-ho

An eye-catching red-haired basketball player is leading college basketball popularity.

On the 30th, the 2023 KUSF College Basketball U-League Konkuk University and Yonsei University match was held at Konkuk University Glocal Campus Gymnasium. The result of the game ended with Yonsei University’s victory, 69-48, but this was not what drew attention.

A large number of students visited the gymnasium of Konkuk University’s Glocal Campus where the game was held that day. The first and second floors were full, and there were also students standing on the stairs on both sides.

The friends who couldn’t even do that stood by the entrance in groups of three, three, five, and watched the game. Most of them were students of Konkuk University, and among them, female students accounted for a high proportion.

Konkuk University coach Moon Hyeok-joo said, “The gym can accommodate about 2,500 people, but considering the students standing on the stairs and at the entrance, it seems to be about 3,000 people. It’s the first time I’ve found it.”

The first purpose of their visit to the stadium was to support the Konkuk University basketball team representing the school they are attending. The Konkuk University basketball team lost to Korea University in the college league last year, but took second place and solidified its position as a college basketball powerhouse.

But that wasn’t all. Most of the students who visited the stadium that day were mostly friends who did not know anything about basketball. The reason these friends came to watch basketball was to see the real-life Kang Baek-ho and Choi Seung-bin in person.

Forward Choi Seung-bin, a senior at Konkuk University, has been attracting attention with his bright red hairstyle since this season. As the video of his game spread through YouTube and social media, the interest of the general public who did not know basketball increased. At the same time, his personal SNS followers also rose vertically.

Choi Seung-bin said, “After being quiet, the number of SNS followers suddenly increased. It made me think about what I did wrong.” In fact, the number of followers on his SNS jumped from 600 before dyeing to over 2,000 after dyeing.

At the same time, there were articles on terrestrial broadcasting as well as various media outlets. Recently, as it has been reported several times through the media, even Konkuk University students who were not interested in basketball came to hear about him.

A female student who visited the stadium that day said, “I know that the second home game was held at school today. I was not really interested in basketball, but after watching a video of Choi Seung-bin and reading an article recently, I came here because I wanted to see the real thing. I think I’m going to ask for a photo later.”

As a home-and-away match, the match was played with the unilateral support of Konkuk University students. And even after the game, Konkuk University students did not leave and waited, waiting in line for a photo shoot with Choi Seung-bin after the basketball team meeting.바카라사이트

Choi Seung-bin also lost the game, but he took a selfie with all the students waiting for him with a smile on his face. On this day, Choi Seung-bin boasted a popularity comparable to that of an idol.

Coach Moon Hyeok-joo said, “As I’m revealing now, there was a request for Seung-bin to appear on Netflix’s ‘Physical: 100.’ Thinking that it would happen, we agreed to shoot during the break period. As Seungbin became popular, he suddenly became a manager, so I think I will have to charge Seungbin for the cost.”

He also said, “The school shows a lot of interest in the basketball team. Whenever there is a home game, through the school broadcast, he says, ‘There is basketball, so go to the gym’. I am grateful, but I do not know what to do. As a result, the interest and expectations of the basketball team of the students have increased, and I will work on the league by taking good care of the players so that I can live up to it.”
