Kiwoom Heroes infielder Song Sung-moon lost one hit.
Song came to bat in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 7-0 lead against the LG Twins in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 8th and faced Kim Yun-sik.
Song hit the first pitch hard and the ball traveled down the line, but it bounced off first baseman Kim Gap-soo, who was standing on the right-field line, and first baseman Austin caught it, dived to first base, and touched the base with his glove.안전놀이터
Kiwoom conducted a video review to determine whether Song’s hit was foul or fair. After about a minute of video review, the call was upheld as fair, and LG grounded out what could have been a long ball to right field. It was an unlucky grounder for Song Sung-moon.
Kiwoom, however, took the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a four-run inning before Song Sung-moon came to bat. Lee Ji-young singled, Kim Hwijip sacrificed to put runners on first and second, and Kim Soo-hwan hit an RBI double that crashed into the wall behind the right fielder. With two on and three out, Kim Hye-sung singled, Lee Jung-hoo tripled down the right field line and Russell followed with a single up the middle.
LG escaped further damage, but Kim Yoon-sik set the tone in the fourth inning with seven runs. Kim Yun-sik gave up a double to Lee Jung-hoo with runners on first and second and a sacrifice fly to Lee Hyung-jong with runners on first and third after Russell’s single.
Kiwoom led 7-0 at the end of the fifth inning.
