Calf Pain to Toes? CIN Pralley Headed to IL with Fatigue Fracture

Bad news for the Cincinnati Reds.

The Reds placed outfielder Jake Pralley, 28, on the 10-day disabled list (IL) on Saturday. He was placed on the IL with a stress fracture in his left fourth toe. According to Cincinnati manager David Bell, Fraley’s condition worsened as pain in his calf traveled down to his foot. Cincinnati called up outfielder T.J. Hopkins, who was initially assigned to Triple-A, to fill Fraley’s spot. Hopkins hit .318 with 16 home runs and 53 RBIs at Triple-A this year.

Prior to his injury, Fraley played in 92 games, batting .263 (76-for-289) with 15 home runs and 63 RBIs. His on-base percentage (.346) and slugging percentage (.467) combined for an OPS of .813. He led the team in most offensive categories, finishing second on the team in home runs behind Spencer Steer (.272 with 17 home runs and 62 RBI). He was one of five Cincinnati hitters to reach double-digit home runs.메이저놀이터

Fraley was a second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2016 First-Year Player Draft. He was traded to the Seattle Mariners in November 2018 and returned to Cincinnati last March. In his big league career (five years), he is batting .238 with 36 home runs and 128 RBIs. He hit double-digit home runs for the second straight season this year. However, he was sidelined by an unexpected fracture injury.
